When Barny says "Canada, why do we let you be a country?"
That's how I feel about Jezebel.

At least Canada has hockey.

I have a proposal.
We form our own blog, like Jezebel, but for men. The fact that one does not exist yet blatantly sexist on the part of the Gawker network.

And hot chicks.

You could make it your own personal blog...

Isn't that what Oppo is? ;)

People make fun of Canadian women, but from what I saw, I am not complaining.
On a trip to Brampton for games in high school;
1) Went to a hockey shop. The girl at the counter was very pretty, very knowledgeable, and very nice.
2) The girls hockey team who had the locker room next to us were at least 75% very attractive, where that ratio would be flipped around here.
So, can't complain.

Here's what I can't figure out: I can read a lot of good natured self-deprecation and faux hypocrisy/exaggerated outrage/histrionics (of course there's some real hypocrisy too) in Jalopnik and Oppo, but I am totally tone deaf as to whether the hypocrisy, outrage and histrionics on Jezebel is real.... My inclination is to think it is, and WTF is their problem, but maybe I'm missing another level? I want to be fair here.

Oppo doesn't discriminate. Oppo is for all. Saying Oppo is for men is being sexist because 'boys like cars'.

Nope. I want the same legitimacy as Jezebel. Staff writers, a budget, everything. Equal rights.

I didn't mean to be sexist. I definitely like that there are some female gearheads on here.
What I meant was that oppo is essentially a guy blog because it's mostly guys on here. It's basically a ton of guys + Kay and Stef

Oh I know you weren't trying to be.
But the argument of 'guys have gizmodo, kotaku, jalop' is a purely sexist one I like to throw back in their faces. It's actually dually sexist, in both saying that guys like all that stuff, and are stereotyping, and also being derogatory to females at the same time, by saying that it's not really a site for them.

The Man Cave.
The Shed.
The Bunker.

I agree that's a baseless argument. Most opponauts are very inclusive and welcome female writers. I don't frequent gizmodo or kotaku but wouldn't be surprised if the guys on there are inclusive too.
I have only visited Jezebel a few times. Are the women on there full on anti men replying to their posts?

Kotaku is split 50/50. I've seen some vile things posted there in regards to female gamers or females in the industry.
Jez has some serious man hate going on. The majority of posters are good, but if you're male, and you have an opinion, keep it to yourself. Having a penis is an instant strike against any sort of legitimacy your comment may have.

That sucks some guys say vile things about female gamers or females in the gaming industry.
Also sucks the girls on Jez ignore legitimate comments. I could see them ignoring bad comments but good comments from the other gender create good dialogue

I'm actually surprised that Gawker doesn't have the equivalent of askmen.com

I used to try to reply there talking some sense, and I think if they were being satirical, I woulda been a lot better received.

Careful what you say.
My previous suggestion that the Jezebel 'fancy car' post should be crossposted got booted to pergatory for trolling. Apparently any acknowledgement of their corporate level trolling is, in itself, trolling on our part.

I just think they need a really good and deep dick'n... Not really, but watch them completely and utterly lose their shit when you tell them that.

Big news, its called The Chive. I mean, I'm not sure its exactly the same (doesn't have 'pro-men' articles), but that site is pretty much only meant for men. I mean, if women went on The Chive, odds are they wouldn't find it really respectful.

Wow, that site gave me eye cancer.
I meant more like askmen, huckberry, the art of manliness, its tactical.

Yea The Chive is, well, interesting. It's a mix of porn without the nudity and then a bunch of other random articles. It's kinda like the SFW version of people that say they watch porn for the plot line. Sure, there are other articles on there, but everyone is pretty much just there for the boobs.
